EP. #31 — Should I Leave My Job? What to Ask Before Making a Change
Have you ever known it was time to leave a job, but felt unsure how to handle what came next?
When I was about 20, I tried to have an honest conversation about leaving the first salon I worked in. Instead, I was told to move my things out that night. I had known and looked up to the owner for years, so the experience left me hurt, angry, and questioning whether I’d done something wrong.
I found my next step and kept working. What I didn’t do right away was understand how that experience had changed the way I approached leaving other situations.
In this episode, I’m sharing that story and talking about the space between realizing something needs to change and deciding what to do. Whether you tend to move quickly or stay and question yourself, there may be more to understand before your next step.
ABOUT THIS EPISODE
In this episode, I talk about:
• Why I wanted to leave my first salon and what happened when I tried to tell the owner
• How that experience taught me to move quickly when a workplace no longer felt right
• Why changing your circumstances doesn’t always resolve what you’re carrying from the last experience
• The different ways people respond when they sense something needs to change
• Three questions you can ask yourself when you’re unsure what to do next
THE TRUE INDIGO METHOD
I wasn’t intentionally moving through the True Indigo Method when this happened. I created the framework later, after learning how much can happen between noticing that something feels wrong and living differently.
In the episode, I look back at this story through its five stages: Awareness, Reflection, Resonance, Inner Authority, and Integrated Alignment. It helps me see what I knew then, what I was still carrying, and what took longer to understand.
The method isn’t there to make the decision for you. It gives you a way to get more honest about what’s happening and build trust in your own judgment.
THE TRUE INDIGO METHOD FOUNDERS COHORT
Enrollment opens today, September 29, for the six-week True Indigo Method Founders Cohort.
We’ll move through the method together and make space to apply each stage to what’s happening in your own life. If you’ve been wanting guidance as you sort through a change, you can read the full details and enroll below.

BEFORE YOU GO…
If you’re questioning a job, relationship, or another part of your life, you don’t have to force an answer this minute. Start with these questions:
What happened that made me start questioning this?
Am I responding only to what’s happening now, or is this bringing up something familiar?
What would help me understand what I need before I decide my next step?
You might decide to leave. You might decide to stay and ask for something different. Either way, you deserve room to make an honest decision.
